Your First Visit:
If you have a specific dental problem that is causing you pain or discomfort, we will attempt
to alleviate your symptoms. All of our patients receive immediate care for urgent situations,
no matter what time of day or night.
If you are here for a routine examination, you will be greeted and interviewed by our office
coordinator, Teresa, our dental assistant Annette or our hygienist, Rebecca or Marilyn who
will discuss your health history and any concerns you may have.
A full series of radiographs (x-rays) will be taken so that we can detect, or rule out,
any problems that cannot be seen by the naked eye unless you can provide a recent series of
x-rays (Diagnostic Quality taken within the past twelve months) provide for you.
You will receive a thorough clinical evaluation by Dr. Haley which will consist of examining:
1) The tooth / teeth that are of concern to you.
2) The soft tissues of your mouth and neck to screen for oral cancer, and other abnormalities,
3) Gingival (gums) health and possible periodontal disease,
4) Teeth for caries (decay) detection and malocclusion.
In most cases we will be able to complete our diagnosis on the first visit and give you our recommendations for treatment, fees, and number of visits necessary to complete care However, special cases may require more time and thought. In such situations, the doctor will discuss your diagnosis and treatment at a subsequent visit. In either case, all proposed care will be carefully explained in terms you can understand and financial responsibilities will be reviewed prior to the commencement of any care.
We try hard to be punctual for our appointments, and ask the same consideration from you. If you must change, or cannot make an appointment, please notify us as soon as possible so that we may re-appoint you and schedule someone else into your reserved time. We try to see our emergency patients as quickly as possible. If you cannot make a scheduled time, please let us know promptly. Failure to keep scheduled appointments may result in a “broken appointment” fee, or possible dismissal from the practice. If we are a little late because of unforeseen complications, we ask your patience. If appropriate or when necessary, we refer to a number of excellent specialists
To control costs and maintain quality, fees are due for services after each visit. We believe patient's rights are best served when you have the freedom to decide what type or level of dental care you receive. While we accept most major dental plans, we limit our Direct participation in some which take away YOUR freedom of choice. Payment is expected at time of services unless previous arrangements have been made with our Office Coordinator, Teresa. We accept cash, VISA & Master Card, and offer payment plans for large cases. Liz is available to discuss finances, and will gladly assist you with your insurance paperwork. While we usually file your claim electronically prior to leaving our office after your visit, it is your responsibility to address any fees for services we provide for you.
